Bolton Wanderers’ new fortune in Ligue 1 as Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday predictions made

Bolton Wanderers are currently on a five game unbeaten streak which has seen them collect 13 points from 15 available.

Victories over Ipswich Town, Shrewsbury Town, Sunderland and Cambridge United were followed by 10 men to claim a point against Morecambe over the weekend.

Amadou Bakayoko’s late strike nullified Cole Stockton’s effort, with the Morecambe striker having had his earlier penalty saved by James Trafford.

Wanderers are now back in the top half of the table and will look to extend their unbeaten run against Charlton Athletic tomorrow night.

Throughout the campaign, the football statistics site FiveThirtyEight predicts how the League One table could end after the results of each matchday, with the season reaching the regular season climax at the end of April before the play-offs.

And the recent run of results for Bolton means they are currently tipped to finish the season in tenth place, between Ipswich and future opponents Charlton, and represents an increase from the 13th which was expected a few weeks ago. .

At the top of the table, Rotherham should finish ahead of Wigan Athletic and secure automatic promotion to the Championship.

And the play-off spots are still expected to be filled by MK Dons, Oxford United, Wycombe Wanderers and Sunderland, with Sheffield Wednesday missing in seventh.

At the foot of the division, Morecambe, Crewe Alexandra, Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers remain the four teams tipped to play in Ligue 2 next season.
