The Ohio State football team could be on the verge of finally getting its first five-star recruit from the Class of 2023. While the Buckeyes are the eighth-ranked player in the nation, they have yet to receive the commitment. with five-star hope. That could change on Monday.
That’s because Carnell Tate, a five-star receiver, is due to commit at 1 p.m. Monday. It is widely believed that Tate will travel to Columbus to play for the Ohio State football program. Monday’s announcement will give us a definitive answer on this.
This is the time of year when there are a lot of commits. Prospects attend camps, tours, and engage in programs during the summer. Ohio State knows that, so they’re not freaking out about their recruiting rankings just yet. There is still plenty of time in this cycle to get great players.
Tate is one of the best players in the country. He would be yet another stallion that Brian Hartline brought into the wide receiver room. Hartline has established himself as the nation’s top scout for wide receivers. Tate would be the No. 2 receiver in that class for Ohio State.
Tate is currently listed as the third-best receiver in the nation for the Class of 2023. By the time the rankings end, he could end up being the best or second-best receiver. The Buckeyes are on those prospects as well. It will be interesting to see how many of them they can end up with.
We’ll let you know what Tate decides to do as soon as he makes his announcement. Hopefully it will be a good day for the Buckeyes.
