âWhat a player! Pep thinks Lukaku made Chelsea a ‘stronger’ team
Follow the reaction live after Manchester City beat Chelsea in what could be a pivotal game in the Premier League title race this season.
Les Bleus beat the reigning champions three times in a row at the end of last season, including the Champions League final in May to become European Champions for a second time. But City got some rematch with three very important points in their attempt to defend their crown on Saturday afternoon.
Gabriel Jesus scored the only goal of the game after his deflected shot in the second half beat Edouard Mendy in the home goal. Thomas Tuchel’s side reacted to the backhand but couldn’t come back on terms and failed to register a single shot on target.
