Abraham on the scoresheet for Roma
Roma are currently cruising 3-0 against Zorya Luhansk’s Ukrainian side in the Europa Conference League and Tammy Abraham has caught one.
The 23-year-old has been in excellent form for the Italian side this season, but he was not included in the last England squad – which was announced this afternoon.
Was Abraham roughly done by Gareth Southgate?

Bamford’s eyes return from injury
Leeds striker Patrick Bamford is considering a return from injury after the next international break.
The 28-year-old injured his ankle against Newcastle earlier this month and missed his side’s loss to West Ham last weekend.
Speaking on the official Leeds United podcast, Bamford said: “It’s been about 10 days now since I’ve done this (and) I’ve done very little. I’ve been able to walk well, it’s just running and push on my toes.I continue to test it every day to see if it improves a bit, it is not yet ready to work.
âI imagine in the next 10 days I’ll be ready to run on it. So I guess when I can start running and change direction normally, I’ll be back with the team probably in a week.

Xisco expresses sadness over Peter Etebo injury
Watford manager Xisco Munoz says he is sad after Peter Etebo has been ruled out for the remainder of 2021 due to injury.
The Stoke City loaner injured all four muscles in the draw against Newcastle last weekend and is expected to be out for “four to five months”.
Xisco said: âYes, I am very sad about it – always when one of our players is seriously injured.
âIt’s a problem for us and that’s all you can say. It’s a time to try and give it the best recovery. He is away for four to five months and that is also a problem for him because he had a very good attitude for our team and our team.

Learn more about the Greenwood and Bellingham omissions
At his press conference today, Gareth Southgate spoke in detail to explain his reasoning behind leaving Mason Greenwood and Jude Bellingham out of his last England squad.
Southgate explained: âThey don’t come in pairs but they are two similar situations in that they are young players with a heavy load right now. I have spoken with both players and both are feeling it. Jude has a heavy load of games per minute, he plays Champions League games, he plays league games and at 18 he had a full season last year and went straight into a European Championship , so he didn’t have a break.
“We don’t want to overload them, so we have to make sure that we make the right decisions. These are largely decisions made with me talking to the players and their families rather than the clubs. With both clubs, we have a very good relationship and we talked about the situations but it is not an agreement with a club, it is us who take care of the young players.
âA lot of times in our under 18s, 19s and 20s, that kind of thing happens all the time. Of course these two boys have a much higher profile and they play really well. I don’t deserve it. to be part of the team. We would pick them if we didn’t have those longer term goals and ambitions in mind, I think. “

Southgate on Arsenal duo Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White
Aaron Ramsdale has been recalled to the England squad after his impressive start to the season for Arsenal, but Ben White is out again.
On Ramsdale, Southgate said: âAaron (Ramsdale) was with us all summer so we had the opportunity to work with him and understand his strengths. The move to a club with high expectations and style Backyard toy building is a factor for us. It has adapted well to this movement. ”
Speaking about White, the England manager added: âHe has performed well against Tottenham, he is still moving to a new club but the performance has shown good signs and he is a player we are following closely. He would have been very close to this team as well. “

Southgate challenges Chilwell to return to Chelsea squad after England omission
Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell has had a disappointing start to the campaign. The left-back has fallen down the pecking order behind Marcos Alonso and has yet to play a minute of Premier League football.
Southgate challenged the 24-year-old to make his way into the Blues squad. He said: âI told Ben (Chilwell) after the tournament that I knew it would have been a tough experience.
“What he has to do now is fight to come back. You have to roll up your sleeves and show your character. He has to fight to get back into the Chelsea squad.”

Southgate confirms Smith Rowe was ‘about’ to be called out
Despite his brilliant start to the season, Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe was not called up by England’s last team.
But Gareth Southgate has confirmed the 21-year-old is close to being selected. He said: “He’s a player we love a lot and was very close to being part of this team.
âAt the moment, I don’t want to bring in young U-21 players anymore. They have to earn this right over a longer period of time.
“I thought his performance against Tottenham was very good, we also know how he finished last season. I can only say he’s a player we really love and was close.”

Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham are the two surprise omissions from the England squad.
Gareth Southgate explained his reasoning for leaving them out. He said: âThey (Greenwood and Bellingham) are players with a heavy game load right now. We have to remember that these guys are still growing physically. We have to be very careful how we treat them. They will be some really exciting players for England in the future.
