Bergwijn leaves Spurs – Blues ‘interested’
Everton are interested in Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn, according to the Daily Mail.
But they face competition from Ajax, who have reportedly already had a bid of around £17m rejected for the player.
The winger was on the Netherlands team sheet in Friday’s 4-1 win over Belgium and after the game he made it clear his future lay far away at White Hart Lane.
Speaking to AD, he said: “I just need to go play. I want to leave Spurs now for sure. Does it matter if my new club plays in the Champions League? is not my top priority. It would be nice, but what is important is that I will play.
“I wasn’t allowed to leave Spurs in the winter and I haven’t had any problems. But in the last few months I’ve had almost no treatment there. I want to go and play somewhere every week. That would be good if there was clarity soon My situation must now be different.
