Jurgen Klopp gives insight into Crystal Palace shock

Liverpool have started their Premier League season in good shape and their recent 3-0 victory over Leeds has taken them to the top of the table along with Manchester United and Chelsea.

The top three teams remain undefeated and have taken ten points out of a possible twelve so far, and are even tied for goals with champions Manchester City hiding just behind the trio due to their first day loss to Tottenham .

Although the previous two seasons have been won quite comfortably by Liverpool and City respectively, the class gap has narrowed significantly this time around with the title race set to be tighter than ever.

However, Liverpool star Fabinho does not consider his side to be one of the favorites for the title.

Fabinho did not include Liverpool in his list of favorites for the Premier League title

Fabinho was one of several Liverpool stars to pledge his long-term future at the club this summer, as the Brazilian midfielder signed a new deal at Anfield that will extend his stay until 2026, but the player from The 27-year-old considers Chelsea and City to be the two big favorites for the title this season.

The midfielder recently spoke to ESPN Brazil and admitted: “I think Manchester City are the favorites because they are the defending champions and keep getting stronger, which they do every season.

“They, even being champions, winning titles, always want to strengthen themselves, so they are the favorites of the season.

“Chelsea, the current Champions League champion, continue to buy too. I think these two teams are also very strong and are the favorites.”

The midfielder appeared to suggest that Liverpool are not favorites due to their lack of reinforcement over their title rivals, but Fabinho has confidence in Jurgen Klopp’s “strong” side.

Fabinho believes Liverpool’s experience could be key and said: “Even though Liverpool haven’t spent as much as other clubs in this window, several players have renewed their contracts which is very important for the club. I was one of those players.

“We signed Konate, who is a great defenseman, Harvey Elliot came back on loan, which is important for us, Minamino too.

“I think our team is very strong, it’s the same team that won the Premier League two years ago. More experienced players, more important games in the bag. These are the things that make the team stronger.

“And if you want to have a winning team, we have to keep the most important pieces and that’s what Liverpool did.”

Ibrahima Konate was Klopp’s only signing this summer as the Frenchman joined RB Leipzig for £ 36million, but the 22-year-old has yet to play for Liverpool this season as the Reds boss flexes in depth of his team despite minimal recruitment.

Signings don’t always equate to success, and Liverpool have seen several first-team stars come back from injuries suffered last season which will appear to be new additions in and of themselves.

It won’t mind Klopp not being seen as a favorite this season, as Liverpool once again try to take the league by storm and add another Premier League title to their glamorous portfolio.
