There was encouragement for Mikel Arteta midweek with the return of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to help beat the West Brom Championship side in the Carabao Cup, although the Spaniard remains under pressure given the potential to start. the Premier League season with three successive defeats and the need to break their duck after Brentford and the Blues shut them out.

Harsh but correct decision?

Liverpool 1 -1 Chelsea

We knew it would be a close fight, but no one would have expected it. The red card incident was the turning point for the first half.

I’m glad Anthony Taylor had to make this decision and I didn’t. It was a chaotic brawl in the box and James ran his arm over his own body as the ball bounced and hit him. This is what brought the red card and the penalty. If he had kept him by his side, he probably would have gotten away with it.

Half: Liverpool 1 – 1 Chelsea

45 + 6 min: Everyone is breathing. Liverpool were given a path in the game. A handball from Reece James denied them a scoring opportunity and resulted in a penalty which Mo Salah converted. Anthony Taylor sacked James with a straight red card and then booked two Chelsea players for dissent.

Everything takes place at Anfield. The second half is going to be tasty, the scores are even but Liverpool have one more man.

RED CARD for James and a penalty for Liverpool!

Anthony Taylor says yes. He points to the penalty spot and then shoots a red card against James for blocking a scoring opportunity.

Instead, he returns to the middle of the box and hits the crossbar! The ball bounces towards Diogo Jota who pushes it to goal. Reece James waits on the goal line. He blocks the ball with his chest and then pushes it back with his right arm. Is it handball? Chelsea have averted the danger but Liverpool want a penalty.
