The USC Trojans football hype is massive, for a million good reasons.
A former Trojan legend was on the team and experienced the new wave of USC football: former quarterback Matt Leinart.
Leinart jumped with Adam Gorney of Rivals and discussed the new state of the Trojan football team. He mentioned an energy that came back from the days of Pete Carroll.
“There’s a real energy and a real vibe that wasn’t there – it was there when Pete was there. There’s buzz… The excitement is real. They’re building something really special.
The redesign of the roster continues every week. Last week, Lincoln Riley and his team added more plays while bringing in visiting star receiver Jordan Addison.
Leinart also mentioned that USC should be able to compete for a Pac-12 title this season. With the look of the team, there’s every reason to believe the Trojans will be a force in 2022 and beyond.
The decision to hire Lincoln Riley paid huge dividends, and Leinart acknowledging that the Pete Carroll-type buzz is back is exactly what Trojans fans have been waiting for.
