Carolina Panthers versatile ball carrier Christian mccaffrey was seen on the ground on Wednesday. The big question is whether he will be on the pitch on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles?
McCaffrey suffered a hamstring injury on September 23 in the 24-9 win over the Houston Texans. He missed the Panthers’ next game, a 36-28 loss to Dallas, but the Panthers 3-1 classified him as questionable on Friday.
McCaffrey led the league in scrimmage yards with 170 rushing yards and 154 receiving yards after two games.
Despite McCaffrey’s status, the Panthers are three-point favorites.
“Let’s not overthink this one. Philadelphia won in Week 1. Since that victory, the Eagles have looked mediocre every game, blowing themselves up more and more,” said Geoff Schwartz of FOX Sports. “It’s hard to find a position where the Eagles are better than the Panthers. “
The Panthers don’t want a repeat scenario from last season when McCaffrey missed 14 games with various injuries.
How Much Is McCaffrey Worth? The last time he played a full schedule in 2019, he led the NFL with 2,392 scrum yards and won All-Pro honors.
The 1-3 Eagles will also miss a key attacking player.
Right tackle Lane Johnson, the fourth overall pick in 2013 and three Pro Bowl caps, won’t play after missing the week for a “personal matter,” coach Nick Sirianni said on Friday.
Philadelphia holds a 7-5 advantage over Carolina, the teams having alternated victories in the last four games, starting with the Panthers’ 30-22 victory in Philadelphia on November 26, 2012.
The Panthers are 1-5 ATS (ATS) in their last six games as favorites.
The Eagles are 1-5 ATS and straight (SU) in their last six games as road underdogs
The Panthers are 2-0 ATS and SU at home this season.
Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts is 1-3 ATS and SU in four road starts.
