Peterborough United have been turned down a loan offer for Burnley’s Will Norris as they look to sign a goalkeeper next month.
Christy Pym started the campaign as number one, but fell out of favor under Darren Ferguson and got a stint at Stevenage today.
Therefore, the boss wants more competition for David Cornell and Football Insider has revealed that The Posh has identified Norris as someone he wants to bring in.
However, even though the 28-year-old is the third pick at Turf Moor, the update says the Clarets have rejected a loan offer from the championship wrestlers.
It remains to be seen if they will come back with another bid for the cap, or if he will push for a move given he is unlikely to appear for Burnley with Nick Pope and Wayne Hennessey also at the club.
Keeping the sheets clean has been a real problem for Peterborough as the team have kept just three all season with no team conceding more goals.
It’s no surprise that Peterborough is on the hunt for a new goalie as this is an area they need to try to improve in the New Year, and you have to say Norris would be a bet. at the level.
So trying to get him to come makes sense, and it’s slightly surprising that Burnley said no when they already have two senior goalies on their books.
If Peterborough fails to convince them to loan him, they must act quickly as they have no time to waste trying to improve the squad.
