Reco leads the way as Razorbacks advance in ITF World Tour tournament

FAYETTEVILLE, Arche.– The Razorbacks are making a lot of noise in their home tournament this week. Two doubles teams advanced to the quarter-finals and senior Alex Reco is in the second round of the singles main draw.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Arkansas doubles duo of Aleksa Bucan and Avery Zavala beat teammates Adrien Burdet and Melvin Manuel in a straight-set match, 6-4, 3-6, 10-3 , reserving a place in the quarter-finals.

Then, on Wednesday, the all-Razorback team of Alex Reco and Nico Rousset beat Canadian Juan Carlos Aguilar and Netherlands Sander Jong, 6-1, 4-6, 11-9. The French could face their teammates Bucan and Zavala in the semi-finals if both teams made it through the quarters.

Reco has also claimed one of the tournament’s victories so far, dismantling former Wimbledon Juniors finalist of the United States Victor Lilov, 6-1, 6-0. Reco has just made it to the final of the 25 km tournament in Plaisir, France. He will then face No.2 seed Paul Jubb of the United Kingdom, who was in the main draw at Wimbledon in 2019.
